Neuromuscular & Trigger Point Massage Therapy

Neuromuscular Therapy , also known as Trigger Point Release Technique, is a method of massage that focuses on alleviating pain and stress through the manual release of trigger points (TrP).  Neuromuscular Massage Therapy is great for getting at those persistent and reoccurring knots that we all suffer from. When your Massage Hope Therapist locates a trigger point  in your muscle, they will use finger or elbow pressure to hold the TrP   for several seconds with a purpose of releasing the taut muscle and restoring tissue physically and  metabolically.

Trigger points located in a muscle can cause inflammation and discomfort. This discomfort can be located at the source of the knot (locally) or travel down a path of your body know as a referral pattern.  Below are some examples. For more information about trigger point referral patters, search for trigger point charts and you will see multiple charts detailing muscles and regions of referral pain.
