Jason - Licensed Massage Therapist
Who are you?
Hi, my name is Jason. I grew up in Chantilly, VA. I am currently a student at George Mason University pursuing my Bachelors in Health and Physical Education. I played football and wrestled throughout my childhood till high school. Now I am a high school wrestling coach. During my free time I like to workout and hangout with my friends and family.
Why did you become a massage therapist?
After high school, I used to get massages on a regular basis and realized how much of a change it did to my body. One of my colleagues from my old job who was a massage therapist told me I had a great touch. Since that day, she motivated me to pursue being a licensed massage therapist. That's why I want to help people through massage
because not many know the benefits of how important it is to maintain your body. I like to compare the body as a Ferrari, if you want your car to drive smooth then you need to maintain it. If you don’t then it starts to break down. It is a valuable car and so should your body be.
Where and when did you go to school?
I went to Northern Virginia School of Therapeutic Massage in Falls Church, VA and graduated in 2016
What modalities do you specialize in?
I specialize in trigger point, Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) stretching, Active Release Technique (ART), cupping therapy, and sports massage
List any dysfunctions and acute/chronic conditions you have treated or particularly specialize in:
I specialize in helping with carpal tunnel syndrome, tennis elbow, sciatic nerve pain, and shoulder strains.
Why is massage important to you?
Massage is important to me because it gives me an opportunity to help others and educate them that massage is a need for their health and wellness. The benefits that your body gets through massage is remarkable and not many people know that.
How would you describe your style of massage?
My style of massage is very focused on the area of where the patient needs help. I warm up the tissue first then slowly work deep to where the muscle is relieved. At times I do have the patients contract their muscles in order to get to the right area. I am a fan of working together to meet your goals.
What keeps you motivated?
What keeps me motivated is the satisfaction that patients feel after being treated by me. My goal is to always have a positive impact on every person's health that comes in. I like to stay current in new methods and research that help people through massage. The key to stay up to date and learn because education never stops.
